Dialectic

the photographer shuns mirrors

the jeweller wears no gold

the painter dresses in black

the salesman’s never been sold

the dancer slouches through the day

the lawyer breaks golden rules

the musician speaks softly

the comedian can’t stand fools.

the mechanic drives a bomb

and clerks dream of the wild

the designer likes things rough

and the mother wants to be a child
